Tips to Prevent Allergy Induced Asthma Attacks

Asthma is a condition of the lungs in which the airway become inflamed or blocked thus causing difficulty in breathing and other associated symptoms like wheezing, coughing and even feelings of suffocation. Asthma can be induced by allergens in the environment. All it takes for the sufferer of allergy induced asthma is to breathe in this allergen and he can immediately have an attack of asthma.

Asthma which is induced by allergies has become rampant today due to the rise in pollution levels at home, outdoors, in the offices as well as schools. People may be breathing in these irritants every minute without them being aware of it. Unfortunately doctors will not be able to give you anything to cure your breathing disorder. At the most you will get medication to control the symptoms or certain antihistamines to control your constant allergies such as a runny nose. This will not cure the problem because the root of the problem still lies unidentified and untreated.

If you want to prevent your allergy induced asthma, then you first have to identify the allergens which are causing the attack. This is not very easy do because the exact allergens or triggers cannot be pointed out as they may be anything in the surrounding. Being aware of your surroundings and being a little alert about when you are prone to having an attack is the first step towards identifying the problematic allergens. You should make note of mostly when you have you attack, whether it is in the evening or the morning and where you are when the symptoms of the attack first start.

If you are having regular asthma attacks at night then the allergen could be in your bedroom in the form of dust mites on your bed. If you are prone to asthma attacks in the mornings at office then you could be suffering from "work related asthma" which comes on due to pollution or work stress. Identifying the allergens or triggers goes a long way in preventing attacks of allergy induced asthma.
