These foods have been shown to be effective in alleviating symptoms and attacks. Other foods and beverages are uniquely tailored to this problem. For example, water is effective at treating lung problems associated with the condition because it helps decrease mucus and works to flush toxins from the body. Garlic and onions are equally effective in that the reduce inflammation outbreaks. Finally, unfiltered apple cider vinegar has been linked to mucus reduction.
